2023

Hounds we have homed in 2023

If you’ve homed an Erin Hound we would love to see how they are getting on. Please email us email@erinhounds.co.uk

Shanghai ( now Bran) is on full alert so determined is he not to miss any new sight or sound in his wonderful new home in the countryside.
Bundee Homed
Wake me up when it’s Christmas says Bundee ( now Waffles) as he camouflages himself on the sofa in his new home.
Fleece (now Bridie) is very grateful to the chain of rescuers, fosterers, vets, transporters and adopters who helped her from street to sofa. Will you or your friends form the last link in the chain to help other dogs like her?
Samoa, now Suki, has landed on her paws in a loving family where she is enjoying garden zoomies and snoozes as well as “helping” with the gardening.
Belly Rubs Pls
Yogi (was Silver) illustrates that greyhounds are smarter than the average bear as it’s very clear when they indicate that a belly rub is required
Sweetie Homed
Sweetie (now Maggie) is well camouflaged in her new home as she looks forward to catching up with with local greyhound friend, Molly (was Seesaw), also homed by Erin Hounds.
Ronnie (was Balmoral) has assumed the position of a pet as one to the manor born.
Duke on the left ( was Hewitt)  now living with his very own Duchess ( was Bruna),  commissioned the cutest “happily homed” photo, ever. We certainly think this snap, taken on the way home from a day at the beach, is exactly that.
Cove ( now Bjorn) is certainly a new dog- what a transformation from the sad, bald, underweight soul she was. Dogs like her have no hope if the shelters reach capacity so let her inspire you to promote sighthound adoption to anyone considering a dog.
Divine Dante has perfected the greyhound sofa clearing- leg extension move already. We are so pleased for him and his adopter ( although she may have to get used to sitting on the floor henceforward!).
Tilly Homed
Wherever Tilly ( left)  lays her head , that’s her home, luckily Gwynt, the greyhound is very tolerant about the rent!
Zita (now Molly) is settling into her winter quarters. She is enjoying sharing her life with another Erin Hound, Morris. Two is certainly company.
Duke Hewitt Homed
Hewitt ( now Duke) has squeezed onto the bed behind Marley, a veteran Erin Hound, and is loving life in his new family with beach holidays and playtime a plenty.
Peach ( now Fawn) has moved in with former Erin greyhound, Robbie and bagged the best bed ( human) on day one. Her son, Silver is also looking for a home – hopefully his adopters have a king size bed.
Dual ( now Carmen) on the left,  is having a great time playing with another Erin hound, Posy ( was Prism). What an amazing girl she is to have put her sorry start so firmly behind her.
Faith ( now Shelby) is enjoying the sunshine in the garden. She also spends time with Jess ( was Hawaii), a lurcher previously adopted by a family member from Erin Hounds.
Jeddah Homed
In his forever home, Jeddah ( now Finnegan) has kindly been provided with a giant caterpillar which is looking promising as a new tool in the fight against greyhound bed fail.
Sweet Lollipop ( right) is enjoying quality couch time in her new home with former Erin Hound, Winnnie (was Himba).
Medina Homed

Medina (right) now Delilah has joined fellow Erin hound Tara in her new home. Thanks to her foster Mum for helping this super lass on her way.

Tinker (was Dubois) has taken to home life like a greyhound to a sofa.

Newly adopted Pigeon, our wise older greyhound girl, aptly demonstrates how to stay comfortable in a heatwave; shade, rest and fluids.

Adorable Ada is so excited to be a loved pet now- she is making human and doggy friends where ever she goes and enjoying home comforts.

Honey (left) has joined Erin Hound, Finn (was Snax) for one long holiday which is what their new life is. Keep spreading the word about Erin Hounds so the doggy dreams of those rescue dogs still waiting in kennels, can come true.

Chanel is one classy lady- she has found a loving home complete with other Erin Hounds’ rescues,  plenty of fresh air and invigorating exercise.

Mindy is another patriotic pup by the looks of things and another sofa is crowned- long may it continue.

Temple made sure he not only has a home, but also the best spot in it, from which to watch the Coronation Concert. The rest of his family will be sitting on the floor by the looks of it.

Tina Homed

Tina (now Meg) is being treated like royalty on her adoption though she removed her crown so as not to upstage the Coronation, incidentally taking place on her happiest day.

Captain Homed

Captain (Lenny to his close friends) shows that actions speak louder than words. The love and gratitude of a rescue dog really does go straight to your heart.

Grace Homed

Grace (right) has joined fellow Erin hound Mojo for fun and games in their glorious garden.

Casper now has a soft couch, a new canine friend and a loving family. His life starts now. We have lots of lovely hounds like Casper waiting in the wings so please contact us if you would like to transform another innocent’s life, through adoption.

Fable has found her happy ending in a lovely home with fellow Erin hound, greyhound Schweppes

Seesaw Homed

Good golly Miss Molly (was Seesaw) finds herself in a wonderful new home and has befriended a big greyhound called Garry to act as a minder on her walks.

Handsome Homed

Handsome’s  (now Morris) good looks go without saying as we are sure you will agree and calling his new name in public is less likely to attract unwanted attention!

Izzy Homed

Ibis needed time and space to learn that the noisy world beyond kennels is not to be feared so got busy and with a little help from her friends became Izzy Whizzy who enjoys being mentored by Sam, another Erin Hound in her new home.

Manila (now Maisie) has landed the top job in her new home- chief  taster for her family’s dog food business. What a change from scavaging on the streets. She will help out on their delivery rounds, showing what can be achieved for homeless hounds with a bit of kindness and effort.

Myth (now Mica) has discovered that a comfortable bed, full tummy, clean fur, warmth and love are a reality for some dogs. She can finally believe her future will be safe and happy. Help us make this dream come true for other hopefuls by extolling the joy of rescue dogs.

Jet (was Zowie) has a lovely life ahead of her. She is very grateful to the scores of people involved in facilitating her passage from pound to peace.

Max (now Bertie) got on his bike to look for his forever home and, with a little help from his friends, sniffed out the perfect one.

Panda (right) cuddles up with new little friend, Bob in her loving new home  Her adopters have given this older girl the best retirement present ever.

Vision Homed

We had a vision of the perfect home for little lurcher, Vision (right) and finally the perfect match came along. She is now living with another Erin lurcher called Jaeger (was Trafalgar) to give her confidence plus rough and tumble playtimes to enjoy, free from worry.

Vuitton, now Flynn (right) struts his stuff with new pal Dylan (nobody mention catwalks!)

Dreamer is now living the dream she had when shut in a small concrete kennel-  feeling the sun on her back and smelling the flowers. Help make more dreams come true by spreading the word about Erin Hounds because one dog homed means a second can start its journey towards a home.

Ink has not just got her paws under the table as you can see. Greyhounds love their sleep so hopefully she will budge up first so her adopters are not left without room.

Odyssey’s  (left) long journey into a loving home is finally at an end as she joins Ted and Halo who made the same epic move from stray to sofa surfer. When will this stream of need ever end? Adopt don’t buy or breed – please!!!

Benji (was Juggle) on the left shares a sofa with former Erin hound Phoebe (was Prague). Sighthounds are definitely addictive!

Crawford (now Cory) is thoroughly enjoying exploring the English countryside on lovely long walks and runs.

Lili (was Bermuda) completes the triangle of our Caribbean trio by following her sister, Bahamas and her brother, Barbados onto a comfy, forever sofa. If you missed out on these black beauties, we have lots of equally gorgeous greyhounds needing homes so keep on spreading the word about Erin Hounds.
Bahamas, now Millie has joined fellow Erin hound Seal to become a much-loved family pet. Thanks to her dedicated foster family for helping her on her way.
Juice homed (2) Juice (now Tigger) is our first adoptee of 2023 and looks thrilled to have that honour. It is also the start of another year in which injured hounds get dumped and stretch our resilience and capacity to breaking point BUT by stepping forward as fosterers and adopters, you can ensure the army of carers outdo the army of abusers. Hats off to Tigger’s adopters who did just that.
