2022

Hounds we have homed in 2022.

If you’ve homed an Erin Hound we would love to see how they are getting on. Please email us email@erinhounds.co.uk

Bran Homed Twas the night before Christmas and… Bran now Ozzy, is the happiest hound. No present opened tomorrow will be as wonderful as the love his new family have shown by adopting him as a friend for their existing Erin Hound, Ellie (was Jenga).

Smokey is happy to let others rush about getting ready for Christmas as he has received his present already…. a loving forever home. Will he be the last hound homed in 2022?- its up to you.

Lovely lurcher Shelley has been adopted into her new home just in time to plan her Christmas TV viewing.

Oreo (now Jim) finds that lives is sweet and is enjoying living with Ned, another Erin hound. Please share the Christmas wishes of our other hounds looking for homes so that they are not alone for Christmas.

Mombasa, now Wilson: this lucky chap has found himself a lovely new family and has already made himself at home.

Gideon Homed Gideon (now Tigger) bounces about all day with joy, having had his broken leg fixed, just like his namesake. He also makes time for rest and relaxation as you can see from this lovely photograph of him in his new home.

Barbados (now Moose) epitomises the big black greyhound boys….friendly, funny, intelligent and very very good at sleeping. He woke up just for the photograph so he could ask you to look out for his equally wonderful sisters, Bahamas and Bermuda who are also looking for homes so please form an orderly queue.

Panini (now Jeanie) knows which side her bread is buttered, doesn’t she? Well deserved and what we want for all lost and abused sighthound souls. Please spread the word about Erin Hounds to help more dogs like her.

Ferris is not keen on any 50 shades of grey analogies as he identifies as blue- but that is only in colour not in outlook as he is thrilled to have found a loving forever home.

Zzzzzz. Pitta (now Mia) is relaxed and happy in her forever home. Enjoy your well deserved home comforts, little one.

Ban homed (2) Bàn (now Bo) is spoilt for choice; toys, new family, cuddles, dinner, walkies, doggy friends- so much to do as a pet no longer just staring at kennel walls. Please help other hounds make the transition by spreading the word about how wonderful rescued greyhounds and lurchers are.

Loco, now Jed, is discovering home comforts and the love of his very own family and has the best mentor in fellow Erin Hound Marley to show him the ropes.

Pip Lady Homed Lady (now Pip) is both providing and enjoying greyhound love and companionship in her new home with two other rescued greyhounds.

After a stormy start,  fair- haired saluki lad, Barra now looks like he was ‘ to the sofa born” and illustrates how adoption can make all the difference in the world to a rescued greyhound or lurcher.

Annette ( now Luna) is now safe and cosy in her forever home and can relax without fear of hunger, cold or brutality. Please spread the word about Erin Hounds so others can be saved.

Huma (now Connie) has found a lovely home with canine friend, Tallulah and lots of company, playtime and walks. Thank you to her fosterer who helped her learn about life so she can now live her best one.

It started with a kiss…from greyhound Seal to saluki Tara, both homed by Erin Hounds. We are sure you agree that Tara is very lucky to have such a handsome suitor

Dusty Dusty (was Hake) spent many years waiting to be rescued but now his dreams have come true with a loving home of his own, toys and comfy beds.

Lauper (now Lupa), at the front with her new best friend, Kato, a street dog rescued from Greece,  compares notes on being stray vs  being a pet. Thank goodness there are rescues operating all over the world.

Rhythm, now Remi, knows that money can’t buy you love but rescue can. The eyes have it.

This brave little lad, Breffni has gladly taken on the challenge of transforming from a rescue to a pet and is having a relaxing moment after being a very popular presence at his first family party.

Sam (right) is now part of a happy gang sharing yogurt pots, beach holidays and snoozy times

Garrison, now Stig (right) has joined fellow Erin hound Molly for much needed companionship after she lost her lovely friend Brax. Stig has landed on all four paws and wasted no time getting to know the sofa.
Minnie (was Lil) has a new lease of life as a pet without the pain of racing and looks as content as anything. A little bird tells us she will be a very smartly dressed hound sporting all the latest collar designs.

Myfi (was Blue) has joined fellow Erin Hound Del (was Zera) and the two have become firm friends. Happy days for these lovely girls.

Laney Homed Laney (was Bolivia), is full of enthusiasm for life as a pet despite being yet another casualty of the racing industry, having suffered a painful leg fracture. She is snatching 40 winks in her comfy new bed before playtime.

Liara (now Lara) is well loved and safe in a forever home which is all we wish for the hounds we help.

Waking up in his new home, Zappy says ‘Who are you calling a sloth?” Many happy sleeps, lad.

Who says that you can’t teach an old dog, new tricks? Perl, aged 12 has already mastered the classic greyhound bed fail after only a few days in her new home. Thank you , as ever, to all those who adopt our older or special needs dogs.

Gulliver (left) wishes for a king size bed as he is gradually edged off the bed by his new housemate, Ava.

Pogo Homed Pogo, now Trevor, was found with terrible leg injuries but, in true resilient lurcher style, grasped life with his remaining three legs and bounced his way into the home and hearts of his new family. Be happy Trevor, you deserve it!

Kayak (now Rosie) on the left, is having a great time tearing about with her new best friend, Jessie (was Flair), another Erin hound already adopted by her new extended family.

T’Pau (now Jenny) has perfected the face made by many greyhounds when asked to go out in the rain or even drizzle!

Sally Sunset on the right is now happily homed with another Erin Hound, Saffi (was Oyster). The only problems the new owners have are telling them apart and .. having to now sit on the floor to watch TV.

Ned (right) has landed, not on his feet, but one better- on Lass the lurcher who is happy to act as his pillow and sofa buddy. Well done Ned.

Benjamin (was Benetton) is enjoying full privileges in his new home… need we say more?!

Hippie (now Pippie) is settling into her new home where she is much loved by all the generations in her big new extended family.

Lass (now Millie), after a life in kennels is experiencing the joy of a soft bed and a teddy. Please help other hounds swap concrete for cushions by spreading the word about sighthounds as pets.

Quiver homed (2) Quiver (now Tilly) has gone from lost and mangy, in the middle of a road to loved and healthy, on the end of a couch. Thank you to her rescuers, supporters and adopters- she and others like her, simply have no hope without YOU.

Yani Homed Biryani, now Yani (front) has been lucky enough to land a home with her own big brother, fellow Erin hound Walton, and made a new pal in Ozzy, another lurcher in the family. Thanks to her new family for having the time and patience to let her unpack her baggage and settle in.

Snax ( now Finn) is certainly going to have a happy new year and many more to come.  Last year he was unhappily in rescue kennels with nothing to look forward to but this year he has a home of his own, daily long walks and regular holidays in Wales to come. Help us turn the lives of hounds like him around in 2022 as never before by spreading the word about Erin Hounds and our dogs looking for homes.
