2025

Hounds we have homed in 2025

If you’ve homed an Erin Hound we would love to see how they are getting on. Please email us email@erinhounds.co.uk

Loop da Homed

Loop da loop ( now Willow) is exactly where she wants to be on New Year’s Eve- tucked up and warm as the very last hound adopted in 2025. Spread the word about Erin Hounds so we can make more doggy dreams come true in 2026.

Misneach, now Max, has found a wonderful home just in time for the new year, with fellow Erin hound Shelley for company and lots of sofa snuggles.

Neeson ( now Benson) cannot believe his luck as he has comfort, beach walks and lots of playtimes to look forward to. There is no better gift for a rescue dog than offering them a forever home.

Gentle Yuki ( now Skye) on the left, has found a wonderful new home with the lovely Sancho on the right, for playtime and companionship.

L and L Homed

Storm Bram may rage but nothing ruffles Lady in the red collar ( now Ginny) or her sister Lara ( now Luna) as they snuggle up for cuddles on the sofa in their wonderful new home.

Kebab Homed

Kebab (now Kya) has the cheekiest grin on her face now that she will never again be on the streets searching for discarded take aways or shelter.

Gleam Homed

Nellie (was Gleam) assumes the position in which we love to see greyhounds, along with her very appropriate toy. She is enjoying a wonderful life with her new family including Florence, the lurcher.

Lorcan Homed

Lorcan had a big hole to fill but with the help of patient owners and two fellow Erin hounds to show him the ropes, he soon found his feet (and the best bed in the house).

All we can say to Lilian’s ( was Lilibet) new owner is … “Well, that didn’t take long!”

Calamari, now Suki, has discovered the joys of home life including the comfiest chairs! Thanks to her new family for opening their hearts and home to a rescued hound.

Maybe Vamos (now Rico) waited so long to be adopted because he wanted to find a home with a colour coordinated sofa.  He looks the part now and we are so pleased for him.

The lovely Cooper is making another family very happy and is enjoying lots of trips out where he is being as good as gold.

Verstappen was certainly quick off the mark on National Black Dog day and now called Basil, has secured pole position by the hearth.

Quinlan (now Quinn) can’t quite believe his luck; having been rescued from a ditch, half starved and covered in mange he now finds himself in a super comfy bed with three houndie playmates (all Erin hounds), a loving Mum and Dad and all the love he could want. Huge thanks to his rescuers for turning his life around.

Pup Homie (now Dougal) has brought some much needed comfort to big brother Rory following the loss of his two siblings. Well done Dougal!

Flax is relaxing with his caterpillar toy after a trip to the pub. How sweet life is when you are no longer locked away in a racing kennel and can enjoy comfort and love as a pet.

Deeks (now Flash) is lord of all he surveys and  is a thoroughly modern lad, having wasted no time in setting up his own Instagram account @flashburrows to showcase how wonderful life after rescue can be.

Every hound deserves a second chance at happiness and when Percy found himself unexpectedly looking for a new home, a lovely family stepped forward to offer him just that. Thanks to all those who step up for the hounds, both adopters and fosterers!

Buddy now Bernie has found a wonderful home with a poodle companion and lots of trips to cafes. Thanks to his fosterer for stepping up when he needed them.

Pontoon (now Pirate) has the right hand end of the sofa and Dice , a former Erin hound, has the left hand end of the sofa…bliss!

We think Amy’s expression (was Salomi) says it all- the relief and joy of retirement in a home after being locked away year after year as a puppy machine. Enjoy the good life, Amy.

Porcini homed

Stunning Porcini (now Nelly) now has two doggy playmates, a loving family and a walled garden- so very well deserved. She loves tumbling around on the sofa with dachsund Olive, her new best friend, from whom she is learning about life as a pet.

Banksy (now Axel) has found a loving home with fellow Erin hound Janis for company. He assures us that he is in no way responsible for the large hole that has appeared in the garden, and how could you not believe that face?!

Reem (now Dream) is sitting pretty in her new home where she is enjoying lots of high energy play with the resident young labrador.

Princess (now Phyllis) is a quirky one. Here she is looking like a contortionist chihuahua crossed with a bat! Who said greyhounds just sleep all the time?

Aquila now Nellie ( bottom) is certainly a good fit in her new home as she is resting her head on Tigger ( was Kells), another Erin Hound.

Griddle homed

Griddle (now Albie) is enjoying lovely walks, fresh air and lots of cuddles. Thank you to his fosterers who helped him find the confidence he needed to become a pet.

Hobbles has gone from being found lying outside seemingly unable to get up to lying on the sofa relaxedly unwilling to get up. He will have a wonderful life with his new family.

Eddie thought he had hit the jackpot when he found a loving home. His new family thought they had hit the jackpot when they found Eddie. Erin Hounds doing what they do best!

Glee (now Poppy) is living up to her name as she has found herself in a loving new home with so many toys that she does not know which to play with first.  If dogs could smile, she would be beaming.

Yamal, now Jensen, has a big smile on his face, and well he might as he has bagged a wonderful home with fields to run in and other hounds to play with. Much deserved for this fab boy.

Trombonehomed

Trombone (now Ronnie) is enjoying peace and quiet in his new home but has let us know that there is still some room on the sofa so watch this space.

Tieran ( now Rus) is sitting pretty in his new home where he has lots of young admirers.

Temu homed

Temu (now Teddy) looks like he is in seventh heaven in his new home which he shares with former Erin Hound, Becks who has been happy to show him the ropes.

Manti, now Pixie (rear) is happy to let big sister and fellow Erin hound Yani (was Biriyani) take centre stage as a thank you for making her so welcome in her new home.

Amble (now Amber) is a much loved member of a family who have adopted from Erin Hounds before which is great news. She loves her walks and her toys.

Ebony Homed

I think we can safely say Ebony (left) fits in well in her new home!

Fia is sleeping in after enjoying the happiest Easter ever, having found a home with lots of toys, company and love.

Spry (now Winnie) has comfort and warmth plus colour coordinated pals whose obvious olfactory prowess mean she will never overlook the imminent arrival of a tasty treat.

Bug and Ted

Ted (left) and Bug (right), felt that two is company when you are a slightly timid greyhound so they are lucky to have found a wonderful home together.

Thank you so much to their fosterers for helping them on their way.
Samir Homed

Samir is enjoying the relaxing mood lighting, not that insomnia is a prevalent condition in greyhounds.

Squeeze Homed

If only Squeeze could somehow tell other stray lurchers, who are equally terrified around the time of their rescue, that this is the safe and comfortable future awaiting them……

Jay Homed

Jackson (was Jay) was finding the sun on his face rather soporific but managed to just about keep his eyes open for a photo before heading to the sofa in his loving new home.

Ingles is loving being at the centre of family life and looks forward to many adventures and days out watching cricket.

Conor (now Noodlebean) is able to finally give the love that he had stored up ready for the day when he became part of a loving family and ceased being  just the means for someone to try and make a quick buck.

Truce (now Betsy) could afford to take her eye off the ball now that she has finally found a loving home with a wonderful new playmate Eddie but then again, this canny lass suspects Eddie might make off with it.

Even warrior princesses sometimes find ‘handbags at dawn’ tiring but when Xena deigns to get up, a life full of love and joy lies ahead.

Markowski (now Murphy) after a lovely long walk is dreaming of all the other great times, his new life as a pet will soon bring.
