2024

Hounds we have homed in 2024

If you’ve homed an Erin Hound we would love to see how they are getting on. Please email us email@erinhounds.co.uk

Vodou ( now Jemma) is finally enjoying the safety and care she so deserves after years of churning out puppies. Where her pups will end up , who knows.  Always adopt rather than buy to help break the cycle.

Brisa ( now Enya) is now able to feel the sun on her back, the comfort of a soft bed and experience human kindness for the first time in her long life. What a contrast to her situation on rescue; lying like an inanimate object upon scrap metal in a car boot.

Salvadore ( now Rodney) does not know which toy to choose but that dilemma is a lot less troubling than those he faced in his former life.

Prince (now Arlo) has ascended to the throne and as king of the castle will meet up with Mojo (was Darwin) on his local royal visits.

Cindy Homed

Did she misconstrue the term ‘readers digest’ or conduct a particularly savage book review? Only happily homed greyhound, Cindy knows the answer!

Lola is enjoying all the attributes of a happy pet: love, comfort and relaxation which we wish so deeply could be the same for all greyhounds worldwide.

Looking at Dea now, you would never know the horror she lived through and how much work went into saving her.  It was all well worth it to see her eyes so bright and smiling as she happily plays in  her new home.

Shiraz has left her sad past behind her and now has a Mum and Dad who adore her and a brother and sister (Schweppes and Fable, also Erin Hounds) and of course a sofa which is all hers!

Where’s Wally? Well- we are delighted to say that Wallaby took a hop into rescue, a skip into foster and a jump into a forever home with two other equally lucky greyhounds as housemates.

Rainbow (front) has been shown great generosity by Daisy, the resident whippet who has kindly shared her very short supply of beds.

Malt (now Seren)  on the right,  is enjoying sharing the sofa with her new housemate, Fen. In future, she will be meeting up with other Erin Hounds adopted in the past by local friends,  including big fawn greyhound Erik, (was Snowdon), hence the gap in the middle!

Quokka (now Pippa) has a beautiful forever home and lots of new friends. Thank you to our tiny band of fosterers who do such important work to help dogs get ready for adoption.

Kells ( now Tigger) is enjoying a good sleep after starting his new life full of love and wonderful trips to the seaside. His new family can’t imagine life without him

It must be love, love , love!”. Jellybean has left the madness of cruelty behind and will be  living her life to the full with many many walks and three friendly family dogs to play with.

In his forever home, along with Ruby the greyhound and Tigger (was Gideon), Rover is clearly getting all the support he needs from Finlay the greyhound (was Stromboli). All good things come to those who wait!

Ellie (Emily)

Emily, now Ellie, found her way through a caring chain of rescues and fosterers into a wonderful forever home where she will be cherished for the rest of her days.

Cahoots, now Lucy has landed on her back with all four paws in the air, in a loving forever home. A very well deserved happy ending for this sweet girl.

Hymn, now Finn, is able to sleep deeply without a care in the world in his new home, a far cry from the neglect and filth of his former life.

Holmes (was Mahomes) detected a fantastic new home despite looking pretty clueless sometimes. Still waters run deep!

Adorable Turpin ( now Archie) has not been robbed of his legs but is very pleased that he can now choose to stay in bed rather than having to race ( although he enjoys the odd garden zoomie to celebrate his freedom).

Chard shows the greyhound’s ability to multitask by having a nap with their eyes open- she is a sighthound who is truly determined not to miss a trick.

Thimble, now Chola, captured the hearts of a lovely family and is now enjoying life as a much-cherished family pet.

Mermaid, now Jada, has sailed off into the sunset and the loving arms of her new family, where toys and her beloved tennis balls abound.

Fiddle, now Fionn, finds himself in a fabulous home with endless blue skies and expanses of sandy beaches, a far cry from his sad start, straying on the streets.

Flybee, now Fly, finally found her forever sofa thanks to the dedication of her foster family and Erin Hounds’ determination to make sure that she found her perfect home.

Yaya ( now Cookie) is certainly a sweet little thing and will bring lots of joy to her new family…….when she wakes up.
The day that looked like it would never come- finally arrived for Kamili ( right) . His arduous mental and physical journey culminated in finding a loving home. We love that he can now enjoy playtime with his special house mate Lupa ( she was the 1000th dog homed by Erin Hounds) and are delighted that he is having his first weekend away in Anglesey.
Rouane looks like a princess with her missing eartip being the only visible reminder of her past life but this poor girl , now full of fun and energy, weighed only 7kg when rescued. Please spread the word about Erin Hounds’  other dogs awaiting homes so they can move forward too.
Kili... Homed
Finn ( was Kilimanjaro) on the right is proving to be a real comfort to little Phoebe, another Erin hound who felt lost when her big friend and minder, Toby, another Erin greyhound passed away.
Oslo Homed
Oslo (now Modra) has a fantastic new life and tries his best to be a good boy, knowing that he is deeply loved.
